I’m Maureen Evans. Growing up in Northern Canada, I resolved to writing my way out young, and have worked widely ever since — launching cookbook EAT TWEET in NYC and literary startup POETICA in London, writing poetry collection FATE & KNIVES in Belfast and publishing poems from it worldwide — my voice remaining rooted in the north: wild and humane. I live on Quadra Island in unceded Wiwēqay̓i and K’ómoks territory, where I’ve built a timber-frame home, but often venture into Lenni-Lenape territory; and am everywhere always making poetry, food and art.
